Dr. Monica Mitri

Dr. Monica Mitri received her Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto and continued her studies at the University of Waterloo graduating with honours in Doctor of Optometry.

​

She has been actively involved in community service, such as the Special Olympics Opening Eyes to provide eye exam screening for participating athletes.  She has special interest in contact lenses, in addition to providing full comprehensive eye exams to meet the unique needs of patients.

​

Dr. Monica Mitri is dedicated to serving you and your family and looks forward to caring for your vision and eye health needs. When she is not taking her care of your eye health she enjoys spending her time hiking with her dog, and taking in the scenes with photography.

Dr. Steve Iskander studied Biochemistry in the co-op program at the University of Toronto and received his Bachelor of Science degree. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science.


Dr. Iskander completed his external rotations in Newmarket, working with local Ophthalmologists and Optometrists and learning extensive ocular disease management, including pre and post-surgical exams. He also developed skills in specialty contact lens fitting, pediatric eye exams, low vision devices and aids, laser vision correction management, as well as examining those with disabilities.


He is a believer in giving back to the community. He goes on medical mission trips providing eye care to impoverished areas that lack access to eye doctors; he went to Bolivia in 2018 and to Haiti in 2019. He enjoys spending time with friends, soccer, muay thai and archery.

Dr. Steve Iskander
Dr. Abarna

Dr. Abarna Muralitharan received her Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry. 

 

During her clinical rotations, Dr. Muralitharan had the opportunity to work with renowned specialists in various fields of optometry, including specialty contact lenses in Miami, primary care in community health clinics within Boston, and ocular disease at the Veteran Affairs hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts and Buffalo, New York.

 

Dr. Muralitharan is passionate about patient care and believes in building lasting relationships with patients to provide the best possible care in a welcoming environment. She enjoys taking time to educate each patient about their ocular health and make informed decisions about their vision.

 

Outside of the office, Dr. Muralitharan enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and hiking.
